Accessibility Statement
Everyone should be able to use this site and reach our programs. Here is where we stand, and what to do if we have fallen short.
On this page
1. Our commitment
We serve people with disabilities every day, in every program. A website that locks someone out is not a small inconvenience — it is a closed door to food, housing or a job. We treat accessibility as a requirement, not a feature, and we budget for it in every redesign.
2. Standard we work to
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across this website. New pages are reviewed against that standard before release, and the full site is audited annually by an outside reviewer with assistive-technology testers. Our most recent review was completed in June 2026.
3. What we have built in
- Keyboard access: every link, button, form field and menu can be reached and operated without a mouse, in a logical order, with a visible focus indicator.
- Screen readers: semantic headings, landmarks, form labels, and descriptive alternative text on meaningful images. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- A skip link at the top of every page jumps straight to the main content.
- Color contrast meets or exceeds 4.5:1 for body text, and color is never the only way information is conveyed.
- Reduced motion: if your device requests reduced motion, animations and counters are switched off.
- Resizable text: the layout works at 200% zoom and reflows to narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
- Clear forms: errors are announced, described in words, and tied to the field they belong to.
4. Known limitations
We would rather name these than have you discover them:
- Embedded map on the contact page comes from a third party and is not fully keyboard navigable. Our full address is always printed as text beside it.
- Older PDF reports published before 2023 are not fully tagged for screen readers. We will send an accessible version of any document on request, usually within two business days.
- Data tables in our impact reports scroll horizontally on small screens. We are working on a stacked layout for narrow viewports.
5. Alternative formats
Any material we publish is available in large print, plain text, accessible PDF, audio, or Braille on request, at no charge. Our annual report is produced in large print as standard.
6. Physical accessibility
All RobinHood offices and pantry sites are step-free, with accessible restrooms and reserved parking. Our mobile markets are equipped with a ramp and a lowered service window. If a partner site you plan to visit has a barrier, call ahead and we will arrange an alternative location or bring the service to you.
7. Program accommodations
We provide ASL interpretation, live captioning, translated materials, quiet intake rooms, and one-to-one assistance with paperwork. Language support is available in Spanish, Vietnamese, Amharic, Somali and Arabic, with interpretation in other languages by phone. Requests are honored without documentation and never affect your eligibility for services.
8. Tell us about a problem
If any part of this site or our programs is difficult to use, tell us what happened and we will fix it — and help you get what you needed in the meantime.
