Terms of Use
The ground rules for using this website and for making a gift through it.
On this page
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using robinhoodhelpus.org you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.
2. Who may use the site
You may browse this site at any age. To make a donation, sign up as a volunteer, or submit a form, you must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. Volunteers aged 16 and 17 may register with a parent or guardian’s written consent.
3. Permitted use
You may use this site for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Interfere with the operation or security of the site, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system;
- Use automated tools to scrape, harvest or overload the site;
- Impersonate RobinHood, our staff or our partners, or misrepresent your affiliation with us;
- Solicit funds in our name, or use our name or marks to imply endorsement, without written permission;
- Upload anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing or malicious.
4. Donations and recurring gifts
- Gifts are made in United States dollars and are processed by a third-party payment provider.
- You confirm that you are the authorized holder of the payment method used.
- Recurring gifts are charged on the same day each month until you cancel. You may change, pause or cancel at any time by contacting us; cancellation takes effect before the next scheduled charge, provided we receive it at least two business days beforehand.
- Designated gifts are applied to the program you select. If that program is fully funded or discontinued, we will apply your gift to the closest comparable work and tell you we have done so.
- RobinHood retains discretion and control over all contributed funds, as required for tax-exempt organizations.
5. Refunds and corrections
If you make a mistake — a wrong amount, a duplicate gift, an unintended recurring commitment — contact us within 30 days and we will refund it in full, no questions asked. Refunds are returned to the original payment method, and we will correct or reissue your tax receipt.
6. Intellectual property
The RobinHood name, logo, page designs, text and program materials are owned by RobinHood Help Us, Inc. or used with permission. You may quote or link to our published reports with attribution. You may not reproduce our branding, or republish substantial portions of the site, without written permission. Photographs on this site are licensed from their respective photographers and are not included in any permission we grant.
7. Your submissions
If you send us a story, photograph, comment or suggestion, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use it in our communications, and you confirm you have the right to share it. We will not publish a program participant’s name, image or story without separate written consent. Tell us at any time to stop using something you sent, and we will.
8. Third-party links
This site links to third-party resources, including map providers and partner organizations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
9. No professional advice
Information on this site is general in nature. It is not legal, tax, financial, housing or medical advice, and it does not create a client, counselor or advisory relationship. Consult a qualified professional about your own circumstances. Statements about the tax treatment of gifts are provided for convenience; your deduction depends on your personal tax situation.
10. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We work to keep information accurate and current, but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that program details, statistics and availability will always be up to date.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RobinHood and its directors, officers, employees and volunteers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of this site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you contributed through the site in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Denver County, Colorado. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
