Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and the promises we make about keeping it.

1. Who we are
RobinHood Help Us, Inc. (“RobinHood,” “we,” “us”) is a nonprofit organization headquartered at 1750 Sherman Street, Suite 900, Denver, CO 80203. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Questions about our privacy practices can go directly to our Privacy Officer using the details in section 12.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to do the work and to keep proper records.
Information you give us
- Donation details: name, billing address, email, phone, gift amount and frequency, designation, and any tribute or dedication message.
- Payment information: card details are entered directly into our payment processor’s secure fields. We receive only a transaction reference, the card brand, and the last four digits. We never see or store your full card number.
- Volunteer and contact forms: name, contact details, city, availability, skills, and anything you choose to tell us.
- Program participation: where you receive services from us, the information needed to deliver those services and to report to funders in aggregate.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and pages viewed.
- Aggregate traffic statistics used to understand which pages help people find what they need.
3. How we use information
- To process gifts, issue receipts, and administer recurring donations.
- To acknowledge your support and, if you opt in, send program updates.
- To coordinate volunteer placements and required background checks.
- To deliver programs and measure whether they worked.
- To meet our legal, accounting, audit and grant-reporting obligations.
- To protect against fraud, abuse and security incidents.
4. What we never do
- We never sell, rent, trade or lease your personal information.
- We never share your details with other organizations for their fundraising.
- We never publish a donor’s name without permission, and any gift can be made anonymously.
- We never require a donation, or a larger donation, to receive services from us.
5. Sharing with service providers
We share information with a small number of vendors who work on our behalf — a payment processor, an email delivery service, our accounting and donor management systems, and our independent auditors. Each is bound by contract to use the information only to provide their service to us, to protect it, and to delete it on request.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order or valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the safety of a person or the integrity of our programs.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of first-party cookies to remember your preferences and to measure aggregate site traffic. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not run retargeting pixels, and we do not build advertising profiles of visitors. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will continue to work.
7. Your choices and rights
- Opt out of email using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by contacting us.
- Access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you.
- Change or cancel a recurring gift at any time, with no explanation required.
- Request anonymity for any gift, past or future.
- Ask us not to mail you printed appeals or the annual report.
Residents of certain states, including California and Colorado, have additional rights over their personal information, including the right to know what we hold and the right to request deletion. We honor these requests from everyone who asks, regardless of where you live. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Data retention
Donation records are retained for seven years to satisfy audit, tax and grant-reporting requirements. Volunteer records are retained for three years after your last activity. Program records are retained as required by the funder or law, and are otherwise deleted. Marketing contact details are removed promptly when you opt out.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, role-based access controls, least-privilege administration, and annual security reviews. Payments are handled by a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processor, so card numbers never touch our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if an incident affects your information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
10. Children’s privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. Where children take part in our youth programs, we collect information from a parent or guardian under a separate consent process. If you believe a child has given us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify donors by email. Previous versions are available on request.
